The 2014 Manchester Science Festival will this year be celebrating the innovation of 3D printing with the Museum of Science and Industry’s brand new exhibition ‘3D: Printing the Future’.

The exhibition will explore and revel in how this technology has advanced and revolutionised various fields of industry from science to art and design. With over 300 3D objects on display it will be a real tribute to how creativity and technology can combine to result in a replacement body part or an exquisite piece of art. For the visionary, the potential directions of 3D printing are not only exciting but seemingly endless.

Dr Veronique Sauret-Jackson of Cavendish Imaging & Implants says: “We are especially proud to have some of our 3D anatomical models and implants on display in Manchester as many patients from the Neurosurgery departments there, both adults and children, have benefited from our services. We have a great relationship with Salford Hospital and The Royal Infirmary.”

We hope this exhibition will exemplify how 3D technologies have had such a positive impact throughout the medical profession by continually improving the potential and efficiency of a patient’s journey to recovery and the work of the surgical team.

Our models will stay at Manchester Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) for a year.
