We give two ways below to view your scans on your Mac:

Option 1: you have a "dual-boot" Mac - this means that you have installed either Mac BootCamp or Windows operating system on a part of your Mac hard-drive. If this is the case, then boot your Mac as a PC, and you find yourself using... just a PC, i.e. all the usual proprietary scan viewers such as iCATVision and OneVolumeViewer will work from the CD or the compressed files downloaded from your Cavendish Imaging website.

Option 2: download Osirix on your Mac (MacOS 10.7 or higher required). Once you have installed the software, read your scan DICOM images into it. Please also click on the video above to go through the steps to view the axial, coronal and sagittal slices, create a "pseudo-OPG" and cross-sections, and make measurements.

To create a curved-MPR (pseudo-OPG) and cross-sections with Osirix:
- Open the Dicom series from the database window.
- Use the slider bar and move to axial image you want to make your curved-MPR from
- Select the Open Polygon (F12) or the Pencil (F14) ROI tool from the ROI menu bar
- Place your curve with the tool, these should allign to the curve cut you want
- Select the 2-D Curved MPR option from the 2D-3D menu
- A box will appear asking you if you want to produce a thick slab and at what thickness, you can also choose to produce a cross sectional series at this time. Select the options you want and press the Ok button.
- Another window will appear with your curved MPR cut. You have now made your curved MPR. A second window will appear if you choose to do a cross sectional cut as well.
